Varför bli medlem i Götheborgs Cigarrsällskap?

Alla med ett genuint cigarrintresse är välkomna att ansöka om medlemskap i sällskapet, oavsett om man arbetar med cigarrer eller inte.

Bespoke Cigars Basilica C No.2 (Lancero)

Sponsored by Bespoke Cigars.

Location: This review was made indoors.

Wrapper: Milk chocolate brown, sandy feeling with tiny veins.

Construction: A little spongy but it's evenly distributed tobacco.

Cold draw: Hay, almonds, cedarwood.

1st third: It starts with a shaggyfoot or for you that don't know what it is, it's when you get a bit at the end that has no wrapper so you just get the taste of the filler and binder. So it starts with a chocolate orange tone, a hint of pencil wood.
After a cm in the wrapper joins in, now you get a combination of ginger and nutmeg with the initial tastes aswell.

2nd third: most of the flavours are still there, but now I'm starting to feel a white pepper feeling on my lips. It feels almost like smoking a gingerbread man, you have the nuts, the citrus, ginger, a little bit of cinnamon. I really like this, very interesting.

The burn: Really steady and sharp burn. The ash was a little flaky at first but firmed up after the shaggyfoot. It's white as chalk.

Smoke: Very voluminous and fluffy like a cloud. It's also cool to the touch.

3rd third: into the 3rd part there is no more gingerbread, it's more like a dark oak, with a sponge cake with a touch of citrus.

Conclusion: Very pleasant and interesting flavours. I haven't smoked anything like it before and I would love to try it again. It's definitely a medium to full bodied cigar.

Result: In my book this is a 92 points cigar.

Cigarkings Schöne Robusto
Sponsored by Cigarkings.
This review was made outdoors in a sunny yet a little windy day (20°C).
Wrapper: Milk chocolate in color, thin veins and oily feeling.
Construction: A little spongy when squeezed, but seams like tobacco enough in it.
Cold draw: Hay, a hint of cacao powder and white pepper.
1st third: Starts of with a smack of 70% chocolate, proceeds with a dark woody feeling like the bark of the tree and finishes of with a leathery feeling on the tongue. That took me by surprise, definitely a full bodied cigar to begin with.
2nd third: After a wild ride of the first part I come in to a more mellow bit in the second part. It's not so heavy on the dark chocolate, but the leather feeling is still there and the wood still floats around. I'm getting a nutty flavor, feels like walnuts, or what I can remember of walnuts, last time I ate them by misstanke (I'm allergic to them you see).
The burn: It's keeping the ash on for a good bit into part two before falling. It's not burning perfectly but hey it's not distinguished so far. The color is light gray.
Smoke: It flows like the milk flows from the milk bottle to the cereal bowl and best of all its not hot or cool its just perfect in temperatur.
3rd third: Getts a little bitter like the aftertaste of an espresso and the taste notes crawl back to how they started in the 1st part. Surprisingly the bitterness disappears after 5 mm into the 3rd part.
Conclusion: It was like a ride on the high seas of a pirate ship, this is not a cigar for someone who's not out for a heavy cigar.
Result: In my book this is an 88 point cigar. It has great potential to be great but a bit to messy for my taste.

Cigarkings Dunkle Robusto
Sponsored by Cigarkings.
This review was made outdoors in a sunny yet a little windy day (20°C).
Wrapper: Dark chocolate in colour, sandy with slightly protruding veins.
Cold draw: I can't feel any flavours what so ever.
1st third: I directly get hit with a 50-60% creamy milk chocolate, caramel sweetness and a touch of hazelnut spread.
Ash: It's white/gray-ish and a bit flaky.
2nd third: The sweetness is there but more in the background. Now it's more leather, earth and wood.
The burn: It burns a bit wonky, I also had to re-light it 3 times.
Smoke: It's a bit light, but that could be because I'm sitting outside and it's a little bit warm in the mouth feel.
3rd third: Goes to a dark place, the earthy leathery notes takes over and introduces a dark 70% chocolate. There is a woody finish. The only sweetness left is in the earth notes.
Sadly I had to re-light it again, even though I've been sitting here puffing these past 50 min.
Conclusion: I really like the flavour ride the cigar took me on. But all these re-lighting problems brings down the score a little bit.
Result: So in my book this is a 89 points cigar.
